Scott Blakelock - Managing Director
My name’s Scott Blakelock. I began my career as an apprentice carpenter and became a qualified builder 4 years later. I worked as a carpenter for six years in NZ and overseas then went into project management for a high profile interior fitout company. After ten years of commercial project management I decided I wanted to return to my passion for residential building and use all I had learned in the commercial setting to manage my own company. I am also part way through a degree in Construction Management.
I’m a married father of three little rascals and when I get any time out I like to . . . no wait, there is no time out when you have three kids and your own business!
Past interests include golf, fishing, mountain biking, snowboarding and pretty much any other sport or water sport out there.
Our Team
Our team consists of a project manager, six qualified builders, two “hammer hands” and five apprentice builders.
Early Bird recognises that to get good builders, someone‘s got to train them. So to get the best, we train them ourselves. We work with BCITO and ITABs to help in the training of our apprentices.
